St.st. Constantine and Helen
The Bulgarian Black Sea resort St. St. Constantine and Helena is situated 8 km north of the centre of Varna.
Besides the holiday houses, hotels, entertainment places and sport facilities, the St. St. Constantine and Helena Chapel is situated on the territory of the complex, which once belonged to a monastery, built to honour emperor Constantine and his mother empress Helena.
It is famous for its curative mineral springs. The old name of the resort, which is still very popular among the citizens of Varna, is Druzhba. Two outdoor pools with hot mineral water are in operation during the whole year in the St. St. Constantine and Helena, one of which works round the clock. Under the Sirius ship restaurant attraction, the so-called “warm water” is situated, where a hot spring flows into the sea and even in the winter, it is actively visited. Nearby is the Varna Grand Hotel.
It is mainly visited by Bulgarian and Russian tourists. There are numerous places of entertainment – internet clubs, restaurants, bars, souvenir and clothes shops, rally track, water sports, jets, “bananas”, surf and others. In the complex, there is a police station, post office, chemist’s, petrol station and medical centre and there are regular city lines from the railway station and the centre of Varna to the resort.
